  • Frame Rate and Data rate????

Posted by Kate Castelltort on August 18, 2014 at 2:02 pm

I exported my media H.264 format at 29.97 frame rate, upon upload on vimeo, it suggests, that data rate is only 102 kbps, lower than their standard and it might not show-up in HD quality.

How can I correct this? I have used the same format each time I upload videos.

    Thanks very much!

What is the length (min:sec) and size (MB) of the exported file? Determine whether the file is actually 102kbps. If so, we can troubleshoot the export settings.

    Hello, thank you!

When I right-click on the file name, the size is 84.7 MB (88,833,839 bytes)

    length: 45.05
    total data rate: 102kbps
    total bit rate: 259kbps

this is the same video I have a question on another post about the timeline duration not the same as the length.

    Hi Kate,

As long as you like the quality, I wouldn’t worry about the error. However, there was a bug in Premiere where the bit rate didn’t end up being what was selected in the export settings. I think this happened with H.264 and maximum quality selected. If you have a paid account with no upload limits, I would pick 30 Mbps in H.264, or even Prores for shorter clips.

The bug can also be neutralized by sending the job to the AME queue instead of exporting directly from Premiere Pro. Kate, what were the export settings? Please post a screen capture of the export panel.
