Frame link and FCP
Posted by Kaspar Kallas on September 2, 2005 at 8:27 amIs there any way to prevent the media going offline in FCP when edits are made in dpx files?

September 5, 2005 at 4:30 amHi Kaspar,
Reconnecting solves the problem but is a nuisance. It would be nice to have a more graceful way of handling this so that reconnection is not necessary and I have asked the engineers to look at this in a FrameLink update. They want to do it as soon as they get a chance to look at it. Everyone is busy with IBC preparations but hopefully it will happen soon.

The other thing that is in dire need for mac frame link is the possibilty to subdevide the frames to folders – opening an 1 hour file – well it takes a while….

– and the ability to define the base filename of the shown dpx files within a popup menu or any other way
– I did not manage it that FrameLink opens a reference movie – I had to export selfcontained first 🙁 .. a big waste of harddisk space. … ref-movies could open in FrameLink as readonly-folders which is ok to copy/burn dpx files to another drive.kurt
