FPS Questions
Hi all,
New user here! And these are probably some stupid questions but I would love to have this clear in my head! Would anyone be able to answer these questions for me?
1) If I have a 60fps clip and I put it onto a 30fps timeline. What happens to the clip? And what woudl I expect it to play like after render? ie. jerky? or no change etc?
2) If I have a 60fps clip on a 30fps timeline and I CTRL+Drag the clip out to slow it down (slow mo) what happens to the 60fps clip?
3) if I have a 60fps clip on a 60fps timeline and CTRL+Drag the clip out to slow it down. what happens to the 60fps clip?

Where did the file originally come from?
If it was a camcorder, what’s the make & model? -
I made a 720p 60 fps mpg from 14,000 Targa files from a high end DVS server. Vegas has a double ntsc 59.94 setting in the project settings, which I used and the video turned out great. I didn’t try 30 fps since I had 60 pics per sec to work with. Yu can test your questions with small samples to see what you get, or just use double ntsc, as I know it works. I can render 720p 60 fps and 1080 30p and both played the right speed and audio was perfectly in sync with video on both renders. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Thanks for the replies guys but its not really what I was after. the files are theoretical. I have a GoPro HD that records in both 30fps or 60fps but my questions are about what actually happens? I mean technically what actually happens? Does Vegas drop every other frame when I drop a 60fps clip onto a 30fps timeline or what?
