  • formats for keying?

A friend asked my opinions on the best (ie most cost effective) way to shoot 4:4:4 video in PAL hd suitable for greenscreen work.

As i don’t have much experience with 4:4:4: (all my work is in SD and whilst it originates on HD, i only ever get the downconverted material off a digibeta tape).

So I thought i’d ask for opinions on the cow.

is there a decent camera that will shoot and record at this resolution? (i know of the RED, but that’s all)
Is there a standalone recorder that can take an uncompressed signal from a camera at a good enough resolution for keying?

your thoughts will be very helpful

    thanks
    Adam
