    Hello everybody!

I have a problem finding the right format to do a a video with graphics + one still image + sound (44Khz which can be changed in settings). EThe format must be without bars bars as it suits the purpose of the video. Furthermore when I add text in the timeline it always need to be rendered and it is impossible for me to work like that as the graphics must follow the music, so I need to move it around till it fits. I will also use effects and motion. Some of the graphics I will made with Photoshop. I’m not an advance fcp technician, but i’m a good story teller and now how to make my story work with fcp. So many new formats since I learned FCP in 2000 though 🙂

I will be glad to hear from anyone you 🙂

    Kindest,
    Joanna from Copenhagen

After all that you still need to provide details. HD or SD. What’s the final product? Broadcast? Web? DVD or Blu-Ray? What format video are you working with? Where did it come from? What format are your graphics? Are they Photoshop? AE? Or just FCP text?

I’ll pretend you’re editing full HD. Choose the 1080i 29.97 gps Pro Res preset. Press ctrl+q to get there. Make a NEW sequence and start editing. If your footage is mpeg, m4v, mp4, h264 , avi, wmv, etc then you’ll have to convert it to pro res first.

Thank you Bret Williams for taking the time to assist me.

The final product: Website and youtube.
    Format: JPG (still image).
    Text: FCP and Photoshop.
    Soundtrack: Mp3 or AIF.

I haven’t decided whether to edit in full HD or not. What will you recommend?

I look forward to hear from you. Thank you again!

    Kindest,
    Joanna
