What versions of After Effects can interact with MOV format, H.264/AVC, IMA-ADPCM (stereo) files? Can any do it natively?

I’m beginning to seriously consider buying a Casio Exilim EX F1. If you don’t know anything about the camera, it’s a point and shoot ‘still’ camera that happens to shoot full HD 1080p and also can do true slow motion up to 1,200 fps. There are a lot of mitigating factors about that, but it’s still pretty freaking cool.

    Dave,

Could you explain what you mean by ‘peak rendering efficiency”? Are you relating to the overall speed a render takes or the attainable quality the render can achieve.

I understand HDV format with all it’s deficiencies, just curious as to what you are alluding to in particular?

As for After Effects ‘freaking out’ when working with HDV….here again what sort of issues do you mean?

Considering I work with After Effects 9.0.1 with HDV footage quite regularly I have never had a functional issue with the software. Other issues such as colourspace are certainly a concern and when needed I will use a Cineform intermediate or uncompressed .avi codec.

I only mean to question to see if there are issues that I am unaware of.

    Many thanks,

If I’m not learning something….I’m bored.
