Format, Codecs, Aspect Ratio?
Ok, so I’ve been in corporate video for about 2 years. I get how to cut video and use key-frames, use live-type, etc… The one thing that has always thrown me for a loop is understanding what the differences are between format, codecs, and aspect ratio. In the past I’ve had a bad habit of having my boss set up the project before I start to edit. I now feel that it is time for me to mature in my field and learn the stuff that I don’t really enjoy about editing. Does anyone have a format,codecs,aspect learners guide for dummies? I would really appreciate some help in this area, even if it means recommending a good book of tutorials.

you have to sift through the articles that are not of interest to you, but it’ll answer a lot of questions.
