Activity Forums AJA Video Systems format

I’m confused about the standard def SDI signal path I get with our system starting with our JVC 250 U cameras into our AJA KIPros (3 isos) into our mixer and into a Final Cut Capture.

Our JVC cameras say in the manual they record 480/60i, yet the Kipros read the SDI signal as 525i and it records a 720×486 anamorphic file.

My problem is that the 4th camera records to a hard drive recorder at 720×480 file (DVCPro) and Final Cut will not create a multiclip with the 4th camera file without those extra 6 lines of resolution.

So is there a way to render the 720×480 file into a 720×486 file using compressor or some other method
    so I can multiclip them?

    Thanks
    Larry

Sure. Use the advanced format conversion options in compressor. All things must match in multi-clips. Format, frame size, frame rate, codec, etc.
