I’m just trying to get clear about features we’ve enjoyed with previous versions of Final Cut (Express & Pro) that are unavailable with the new FCPX. Is it still possible to do “24” style split-screen fx? What about plug-ins and filters we’ve used in the past (Tiffen, for example)… compatible or not? Green screen?

I know these are probably addressed somewhere, but I can’t find definitive answers.

    TIA, Robert

It depends on what you enjoyed. There’s lots better and lots missing.
Plugins will be coming. Noise Industries already have their’s out.
Green screen is there and some might say better but obviously not through plugins.

    – Split screens are much easier to me as the new motion controls are much easier to use.

    – 3rd-party plug-ins will be coming. Factory just released theirs.

    – There are some new keying tools in FCP X and if you have Motion 5 you can do it in there, too.

    Plugins not yet…

Green Screen is even easier to use (Personal Opinion)

    Supposedly No external monitor

    Hopefully that answered your question.
