Apple is preparing to make a huge splash at the National Association of Broadcasters trade show this year, Think Secret has learned. Preliminary information from sources suggests that Apple will take advantage of the April show to demonstrate Final Cut Pro 6 to the public for the first time. Even more significant, Apple will use the stage to unveil Final Cut Extreme, an extremely high-end version of its video editing software designed to grab marketshare away from rival Avid.
Well Apple – where are you hiding 6??

There is no official word on this whatsoever and as you note, this was from a [john] “somewhat unreliable web source” So why are you asking where the product is when it’s an unreliable source to begin with? That’s the problem with rumor sites and conjecture, they’re unreliable.
Apple did a heckuva job porting FCP to Universal Binary by NAB 2006 and now they’re apparently ready to release 5.2.1 to co-incide with the release of the Mac Pro.
Best guess from people I know is it will ship after Leopard which would probably mean right around NAB 2007 based on what was shown at the WWDC keynote.

and that web info is lame compared to what i heard:
“FCP 6 will not only push the editing envelope further than its been before, but any purchasers will get their job back, their wife will come back to live at home, and their auto or truck will run like new”
