FOR PAL READERS : FCP 5 Uncompressed 10-bit + 8-bit sequence presets
Posted by Ben Cheng on July 15, 2005 at 12:10 pmHi readers in the PAL world,
A quick note about the FCP 5.0.2 Uncompressed 10-bit + 8-bit PAL sequence presets
I noticed both presets had the field domainance set to Lower instead of Upper
Please change it
Cheers

July 15, 2005 at 12:24 pmReport that directly to Apple. It has nothing to do with AJA.

Yes it has nothing to do with AJA but it does affect AJA PAL users. Ben is just letting PAL users know about what he has discovered in case they run into the same issue as he had. This affects other card flavours as well since it is in the Apple PAL Uncompressed presets but because he was doing an install with the IoLD, he feels it would be good info to spread in the AJA forum.

That I understand, I just want to make sure he sends this back as feedback directly to Apple so they can address this. This is the same type of thing that happened in Motion 1.0 where some NTSC presets were upper field first.

July 16, 2005 at 4:03 pmWhy can’t we all just go progressive…and lose this whole field thing. Better still, progressive with a single frame rate for everyone. Let’s just live in a 24p world.

July 16, 2005 at 9:17 pmI have had the same exact issues… Uncompressed 10-bit is a pain in the rear.
