I recently completed a project using three panasonic Varicam 3700s at 30 fps this past weekend. We used the AJHPM200 to download the p2 cards and everything seem fine as we were working our way through the project. We are editing with Avid, so as we bring in the the p2 material natively we noticed that the material is all at different frame rates. The cameras were all set to 30 frames per second at our camera checkout by a technician and were never changed it on either of the shoot day. When we look a the footage we see some at 29.97 and some at 23.98. We changed the cards regularly and you can see the times we swapped cards. At 3:30pm eastern standard time on Saturday the footage is at 29.97 but at 4pm it becomes 24 then at 10pm it jumps back to 29.97. Has anyone ever seen this before.. Is there any kind of fix that’s less tedious than using compressor and still maintain timecode. The plan was to edit multicamera in Avid and as of now we have stalled. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Chad
