i am captureing avchd through a machina kona LHi capture card into premiere cs4. video quality is smooth until i hit record and then it becomes very choppy. tells me the video rate is to high. new to this field and its real confusing to me. how do i change the video rate. and can i output smoothly if i am inporting footage from avchd, dv,and mini dv tapes all into the same project. system was built to highest specs for adobe cs5. will not get any of the video field lingo from me so as simple as you can make it will be great. thanks

You mean the video is choppy after capture upon playback? What format/codec and data rate are you using? Internal drive or raid?
    Start there.
