I have a long sequence of 5 second shots with a one second standard cross dissolve between each shot. During most of the transitions (but not all) I get a pronounced hop just at the tail end of the transition. Like a frame (or two) jump. Weird. I tried adding the transitions all at once and also on each individual cut and the hop is still there.

The footage comes from Photo to Movie (used to keyframe stills). The footage is fine so there is something wacky in FCP.

Any clues what is causing this or what I can do to mitigate???

And this happens after rendering at full quality as well? Make sure all the options are checked under the sequence > render selected and sequence > render all menus, especially, the ‘full’ option.

Yep…still gettting the hop. But not on all cuts it is random but happens more often than not.

Any chance you can post an example of what it looks like?

I think I took care of it. My sequence settings may have been out of whack. I had been working on a differently formatted project and when I created a new timeline for this one I may have been using the wrong sequence settings. I created a new timeline with different settings and it seem to be OK.

    Thanks.

[Mike Petty] “My sequence settings may have been out of whack. “

    Yeah, that will do it.
