I’m experimenting with my new Sony HDD and V1 and wondering if I’m missing something. I set the HDD to record in the DV format, shoot some test footage, then plug the HDD into the Mac. I drag the DV files from the HDD to another external firewire drive then import them into FCP. They playback with audio in the viewer but not in th sequence. I’ve tried rendering the audio, but no help–just beep, beep, beep. Any thoughts would be helpful.

    Hi
Are the files recorded in .dv DV-stream mode – as used in iMovie?

Sounds like you’re recording the wrong audio rate onto the HDD. Is the audio rate at 44.1khz instead of 48khz?

The audio rate is determined, as far as I can tell, at the camera and it’s set at 48k. The recording format choices on the HDD are DV raw (the one I’m using) and AVI. Any other suggestions?
