Footage exchanges between laptop and workstation?
Anyone here have experience exchanging footage between laptop and desktop for Final Cut?
I’m looking at having to take footage with me from our office and create packages onsite. Since most of the footage we use is either 1080i or 720p, I’m a little nervous. I’ve always had access to a full edit bay to do this kind of thing.
I was thinking of using either ProRes 422 or Apple Intermediate Codec to transfer footage to the laptop. Thankfully, I already have us setup in an all ProRes workflow at work, so most of those files should be good to go as is. I’m also thinking about purchasing an AJA KiPro to feed the completed files into our trucks at the events.
I’m also a little hazy on AfterEffects and if there are any “gotchas” in trying to use it in the field…
Am I at least headed in the right direction? Anyone have a brief recommendation as to an example workflow that would keep problems to a minimum? Please ask me to clarify anything… I know this is a very broad question.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
