Fonts, rights of use
Hi, I don’t really know where to post such a question. For fonts like Times New Roman and Arial when used for titles for TV broadcast, are there any issues regarding rights for use?
This arose because a friend said that a license must be purchased to allow use for making titles for broadcast. This includes such fonts as Arial and Times New Roman. Not special custom made fonts.
As far as I was aware a font like Arial used to make titles for a video, whether for broadcast, weddings, TV commercials etc. has no rights or copy rights issues to clear.
Is this correct or not?
If it makes any difference, this is for a TV commercial on air in Thailand.
Thanks.
