Fonts disappear from AE 6.5.1 list, but (mostly) OK in AE 7
(OS10.4.4, G5 dual 2 GHz, 2.5 GB RAM)
This is odd. After installing AE 7, my 6.5.1 projects (old and new) can’t access Trajan Pro or Adobe Garamond Pro. I get the “missing layer dependencies” error, and the needed fonts show up grayed-out, in brackets at the bottom of the font list in AE.
However, when open a problematic project in AE7 for the first time, those fonts now appear exactly where they should be, and I can use them as expected.
I also see the same problem when both apps have the same project open. AE 6.5.1 bad, AE 7 good.
In a possibly-related occurrence, the icon for each font (in the font library in the finder) has changed to a sort-of blank file icon, reading zero K, not 32K or so, and they’re listed as “documents”, not fonts. Other zero-K missing font families are Stempel Garamond, Classic Script MN and Helvetica Neue. I can see Truetype fonts and PS fonts normally. I now see that AE 7 has access Helvetica Neue, but not Stempel Garamond and Classic Script MN.
I’ve searched the COW, but haven’t found an answer to this specific problem.
I’ve relaunched and restarted.
Sorry, I don’t know where these fonts came from over the years. I have PS, Illustrator, AE and the FCP Suite.
This only started since installing AE 7.Any ideas?
Sorry, there were no replies found.
