  • “Fold Up” plug in help needed (trying to find a fold up plug in)

Okay, I’m building a file and I want some stills to “fold out” I saw that in a reel, but I’m having a very difficult time finding a plug in that will do it.

Here are some stills from the reel, you’ll see what i’m talking about…

Does anyone know what this might be? I can just split them out in photoshop and have them fold out manually, but there are a lot of them and a filter would be way faster.

    Thanks

I think that if there was a plugin built to do that, you would see that type of effect more often. It’s hard to tell from the stills, but I bet they used animation in 3d software combined with animation in AE to achieve that style.

I think you are looking for a simple solution where there is none. Your example in particular looks like it was done in a 3D program and I’m sure the guy(s) doing it was/ were just as frustrated doing it manually. This definitely goes beyond any computers abilities to mimic human intuition so it’s very unlikely one could program such a plugin. So no point in wasting time contemplating the “What if?” and time to get to work.

I guess I’ll just have to go about it manually. It resembled the Shatter plug in so closely (to me) that I thought it might be something that someone had made a plug in of.

    Thanks for any help,
