focus distance, aperture and zoom
I’ve read through a couple of tutorials on zoom and focus distance, but i’d like to know precisely the distance where the foreground becomes blurry and the background becomes blurry.
If i allow the focus distance to be the same as the zoom distance, at a certain aperture, how do i calculate the distance where the foreground is relatively blurred?
If i place an image at a distance that is the dot product of the vector from the camera to the image and the unit vector of the axis from where the camera is pointing, is that the distance where the image is sharpest?
Also i’m more familiar with f stops. Is there a way to use f-stops instead of aperture in pixels, in the comp camera options?
