    Hi folks,

I’m trying to create some cartoonish, foamy bubbles but have encountered a problem that I hope you can find a solution for.

Currently, I’m using the built in foam, as it’s actually pretty good for what I’m after with one exception. The bubbles keep popping in a whole wave and starting all over again, so they only ever build up to a certain point. I want them to keep building and building so they take over the scene.

I’ve experimented with the lifespan right up to the max, but it keeps on just the same. I can’t find anything else that appears to alter this effect.

I’ve got a ref vid of the current situation here…

    any ideas?

Perhaps there’s a better way using particular, but I’ve never tried sticking particles together in there.

    Cheers

    Hi Dave,

    appreciate the reply,

Sorry, I might not have made it too clear, but this is the effects I’m using.

    Cheers

The lifespan is is calculated in frames, there is a ‘feature” that is confusing: the bubble size will affect how far the bubble travels over its life.

Smaller bubbles travel further. Try adjusting the production rate and the bubble size.

I’m assuming you’re *not* using a Flow Map to restrict where the bubbles travel.

    Thanks for the tips,

I’m coming to the conclusion that this Foam effect is too unwieldy for what I need. It’s a shame, because the physics of it are quite nice.

I think I’ll render out a small section of bubbles and just duplicate that all over the place 😉

    cheers anyway
