I saw a tutorial on here about how to make a ribbon fly through a scene and wanted to know if there was another way to do it without using Invigorator 3d. I know I can make a motion path and make it move around like I want to, I just can’t make it bend the way I want to around corners etc.

any ideas? I’m not a pro so please consider that

You can’t bend or twist a ribbon in three dimensions in AE without a plugin like Invig.

Trapcode’s 3D Stroke plugin might fake it, but it would be a stroke without depth, not a ribbon.

Maybe try a displacement map using a Fractal noise layer. Do a search for displacement map or for a flag.
