  • FLVs look squezzed after export from AE

I’m trying to export some videos from AE as FLVs with a custom composition size, but everytime I view the video I just exported, it looks squeezed, width wise. I always used the export option for FLVs in the file->export->export flv, when I used CS3. But, I just upgraded to CS5 and they got rid of that option and now I’m forced to use the render que. This is why i didn’t use the render que with CS3, was because of this squeezing. If anyone has experienced this before and know a work around, I would really appreciate the help!

    Thank you!!

Does your composition have a square pixel aspect ratio, or is it something like NTSC/DV?

I set it to square pixel aspect ratio and it looks like it worked. Thanks!

I’m still learning a lot about AE, How do I know which pixel aspect ratio to use, especially since most of my projects use a variety of custom sized compositions?

Computer displays use square pixels, so if it’s for the web, keep it square.
The composition presets for other formats have the correct p.a.r. as part of the preset, so guess work usually isn’t necessary.
