    Anybody use Flip4Mac for exporting WMV files from FCP? I would appreciate comments and recomendations. Does it do the job? if so, what version of Flip4Mac would you recomend, Studio, Studio Pro, Studio Pro HD

    Yes it works and I find it to be a good product. Try to get Studio Pro HD because of its additional encoding features (2 pass, better audio, HD, etc). However, you could get away with Studio Pro for now, then upgrade to HD later if the Studio Pro HD is out of your current budget.

    It works fine and you can find dozens of similar threads here, we entertain the question at least weekly, sometimes daily. There are competing products from popwire and Sorenson. Flip4Mac is bizarrely slow;
    glacial.

    For us, the most efficient way to create our wmvs is to use a cheap PC. The PC actually cost less than the pro version of Flip.

    This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

    Boogiesan,

    Do you know where I can find a good tutorial on Windows Media Encoder? I have tried a couple of encodes on my PC and they both turned out upside-down and backwards. Don’t know why. It seems terribly complicated compared to Sorrenson.

    Have you tried turning your monitor upside down? And backwards you say? Don’t have a fix for that. 🙂
    Microsoft has a pretty complete Support area: https://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/knowledgecenter/search.aspx
