I had a call today from someone who has a client with a bunch of Flip videos (HD). They want a DVD with a window burn. Is this doable? Does anyone know what codec this is and whether it even has embedded timecode?

The format Flips Cams record is MP4, and no, there is no timecode. My guess is they want the running time burned in, in a timecode window.

I’ve used Compressor a number of times to make ProRes files from Flip cams. They results were surprisingly good. Be sure to clearly name the clips as there will be matching times from clip to clip.
