I can’t figure this out. ONE TIME I was able to edit Flip Video footage (which is 640 X 480 in its native format) in Premiere Pro without a problem (just copied it from the Flip Video device and started editing in Premiere). Since then I can only hear the voice but no video footage.

Flip Video footage does show in Premiere 6.5 however, without a problem. But not in anything newer than 6.5.

In addition I tried to mix the 640 X 480 footage from Flip with footage from a mini DV (720 X 480) in Premiere 6.5 and the edit worked great – I could see both videos as I edited them. HOWEVER, after I rendered it to uncompressed AVI the Flip Video parts look like a bad black & white TV reception.

Can anybody please offer a clue? – I am clueless.

Does the Flip still use DivX?

That could definitely be causing an issue…

Are you playing these clips on the same computer when you try it in Premiere 6.5 and later versions of PPro? If it’s multiple computers, you may have a DivX codec loaded on one and not the other?

DivX codec… That’s an excellent insight. I might have had DivX installed at that one time when it worked.

    Thanks Tim!
