flip cam file import out of sync
I have basic knowledge of FCP so there’s probably a simple explanation for this. I shot 40 minutes on my flip cam and when I play it back on quicktime (it’s a mpeg4) it’s completely normal. Then when I import the file to FCP and play it back, the audio gradually becomes out of sync by minute 2. Is there some setting I’m supposed to change?

Flip media is not supported in Final Cut. It needs to be converted to a production format. Please provide exact specifications of your media, what computer you’re using, and what version of FCP.

The flip cam clip is SD, 40 minutes 15 seconds and 1.33 GB.

Now that I am the proud owner of a Flip Mino HD I can report that the correct answer is that the Flip cam records to MP4.
Aysu, MP4 files are not an editing codec in FCP, you need to transcode the files to a some type of Quicktime file like DV or DV50.

You can use Compressor, or Quicktime Conversion, but many download Mpeg Streamclip and use it, it’s fast and a freebie too.
