    Hello Everyone,

I am working on a promotional video that has many layers of graphics and text. Most of the footage is made up of still images that I added motion tab effects to. I have text on top of all the footage and it flickers when it’s on top of moving images but looks perfect on video. I tried exporting just the sequences with moving pictures and bringing it back in as video but it didn’t work. I also tried de-interlacing the footage when I exported it with compressor and that didn’t solve the problem. All the threads I read here addressed this problem but only when the text is moving ( and i tried all of the solutions given).

The footage I’m working with is SD with a DV codec.
    All the images are JPEG.

    Thanks

Have you tried de-interlacing just the text layers within FCP rather than Compressor?
You may have also tried this, but in your sequence settings you could try changing your Field Dominance to ‘None’.
You could also try doing the text in Photoshop, then save as a progressive PNG.

Thanks Alex. I’ll try using photoshop next time I need titles. The problem went away after I took the majority of the overlay graphics and put them in a different sequence.
