Hi, I’ve been having trouble with still images(jpegs) when imported into the timelime…I get a very unstable image, aliased and flickering…At first I thought it was a field problem, but I made sure the image had a lower field dominance like the rest of the sequence, and it didn’t work, then I de-interlaced it and it didn’t work, I used anti-flickering filter and it barely made any difference. There’s got to be a solution. Anyone?

    Thanks!

    1. How LARGE are your image files?
    2. Where are you viewing them for quality?

Try softening the images. You can do a gaussian blur in photoshop or reduce interlase flicker by softening only in vertical direction.

They aren’t large, the largest one is about 100k, but I never blow them bigger than their best resolution permits. I view them on a 20in Sony Trinitron Color Video Monitor with 600 lines of resolution.

    Thanks! I’ll try that.

The problem is how large they are in “number of pixels x number of pixels” not the file size.

A high-resolution computer image will “dance/shimmer/flicker” in a video monitor.

As was suggested, add the Gaussian Blur filter and adjust it as you view the output on the external video monitor.
