As I’m viewing my video in the canvas window on FCP, there appears to be a flickering or bouncing line of black pixels at the very top edge of the picture. The video was shot in 1080 60i and I’m editing with the corresponding project settings. I have noticed this before on several different projects. Why? And what can I do about it? Thanks.

    Nathan,

Of course that’s outside TV safe and is not visible on a TV, just in the canvas or in a web video. You can either choose crop a couple of lines or blow the video up 1% in the motion tab.

Thanks. Any way I can avoid it being there in the first place?

    Hmmm,

David, I didn’t know there was anything lost on an HD set. When I see a 1080 project on my Panasonic monitor, it doesn’t look like anything is missing, am I wrong?

    Have a wonderful day.

Nope. Remember, this medium was originally designed to display commercials on TV broadcast into your home from TV stations. The web, nonlinear editing, etc. are all little extras the inventors didn’t really plan for.

Thanks guys. Is there a quick way to increase the size of my clips all at once, rather than one at a time?
