If I make a low res comp, (256 x 12), and use a solid to create the effect of a white vertical stripe moving horizontally along the width of the comp, when I look closely the edge flickers.

As the solid moves, sometimes it is blending its edges by one or two pixels with the background (or layer below).

It is not always a clean edge, but almost as if the edge is feathering by 1 pixel, on and off, so that it appears to flicker slightly as it moves.

Is it possible to turn off this interpolation and have a solid move with an entirely clean edge?

(I’m making v low res color animations for LED array lighting)

In the Layer Switches, turn the Quality to Draft. This will turn off the anti-aliasing and subpixel positioning that’s giving you the problem.

    Cheers,
    Ben
