Flattening out grey gradients – not sure if this is possible, but … maybe?
I have six shots of actors, all filmed in front of a gray background. Lighting shifted due to either lights or actor shadows, but the backgrounds all range between 215 and 230 on the 8bit greyscale. Meaning the top of one shot might be 226 and the bottom is 215, creating a subtle shift in the luminance value change between shots, and preventing a simple level change to the whole shot due to the gradients.
I’m combining all six shots into a Brady-bunch style grid and need the backgrounds to match as close as possible.
Is there an effect or plug-in where I can say, perhaps “All greyscale values between 215 and 230 will be re-leveled to 222”?
Thanks
