I am feeding a component signal from a DSR 40 DV deck to a Sony Trinatron (PVM-14M4U)

I am running FCP 5.0.4 on a Quicksilver dual 1g power mac. Ever since I upgraded, there have been a random pattern of flashing white blocks appearing on my Video Monitor when using FCP. Whether I am playing, paused or whatever… if I am in FCP I am seeing flashing patterns of white blocks in the video monitor (the real image is visable behind the blocks).

The picture is normal in my canvas in the LCD.

This ever happen to anybody? I tried swapping all the cables… I neither solved the problem or learned more except that the white blocks (and the rest of the image) were only removable when unplugging the G/Y cable from the monitor.

Sorry for my ignorance but I don’t know where to begin. Should I reinstall FCP 5?
