  • Flashing text when playing DVD in Windows Media Player 10

My head hurts, can anyone help?

I’ve been working on a project that involves a combination of video and slideshow running at the same time on one screen which i’ve outputted to Mpeg2 for putting onto a DVD. When I’ve rendered it to an Mpeg2 and viewed it on Windows Media Player 10 it has been fine (besides resolution problems that i’ve mentioned in another thread) however, once i use DVD Architect 3 to prepare and burn to DVD the end result is not good. The text on my slides (imported TIFFs) flash as well as the areas of fine detail on the film footage (the film window having been considerably reduced in size and placed in a top corner, with the slides taking up the rest of the screen). The same DVD when played using PowerDVD looks fine and also looks fine when i play it through RealPlayer on my PC but not on another PC!!

    Why?!!

Does anyone know what these flashes are? I’ve tried rendering in Vegas using all sorts of variations on field order etc but to no avail. I’ve changed the media properties on Architect (field order) but to no avail. I’ve never had this problem in the past. In fact WMP has always given me the best results for viewing my DVDs on.

    AAAAAArrrrgggghhh!

I have just done the authoring bit through another program (TMPGEnc DVD Author 2) and the results are the same, and only when played though WMP.

Oh yeah, the text is flickering rather than flashing.
