  • Flashing black in bright highlights- FCP 7.03

Has anyone ever seen this issue? Flashing black bits in the sky shots. It’s only in highlighted “white clip” sky areas – on the final cut viewer/canvas and on the TV monitor- there are flashing black digital/blocks; they’re not on the original as this plays ok straight into standard monitor. Is there a setting in FCP 7.03 for warning about highlighted/bright areas- that we could shut off?
    Thanks

Thanks for your response Phil. Panasonic HDX-3100 shooting 1080 23.98, AVC-Intra; Natively transferred thru Final Cut. MACPRO 2.1, 8-core; AJA-Card, Radeon Graphics Card, 12gb of RAM.

Cutting the show onto an HD Timeline: 1080 23.98. in FCP 7.03. Snow Leopard 6.0.8.

Any thoughts on this. It has actually come and gone and seems to be back now…just never seen this in the highlights and it’s not happening on other footage from HDX-900 tape cam, or Ex-1 footage on the same timeline.

    Thanks
