  • Flash frames after copying a sequence

Recently I’ve noticed a problem in Final Cut that I’ve never experienced before. When I copy and paste some sequences, I’ll notice several clips thoughout the pasted sequence have been trimmed by one frame, creating flash frames in my sequence. Often at an edit point there will be a frame trimmed from each clip creating a two frame gap.

Also, I don’t know if the problem is related, but my audio waveforms in my timeline are working only intermitently. So I’ll select another sequence and come back to the one I’m working on and often they will reload.

I’ve tried deleting my preferences and fixing my permissions, but this doesn’t seem to help.

Do these sequences have different time bases? Is the sequence you are copying 23.98 and the settings of the one you are pasting 29.97, or visa versa? I have seen this under those circumstances.

No, the sequences are the same time base, although there are clips in the sequence that have different fps, but there doesn’t seem to be any relation to the clips with this problem, both 23.98 and the 29.97 clips have experienced the problem.
