So it turns out the MXF file that came off of the P2 card are corrupt. I have tried to repair them and have no luck with P2 Log Pro. Is there a program that will allow me to open the MXF files and salvage as much as I can as still image sequences? Any help PLEASE!!! This was all shot in Europe and there is no way to reshoot.

    Thanks in Advance.

Try the demo to MXF4mac and their MXF Import program.

How do you know they are corrupt? Is this concerning your last post as well? From the same shoot?

Yes this is from the same shoot. I know they are corrupt because I am able to open them in QT and as I play through the clip I am seeing digital hits, or the media just goes away all together. The problem I am having is that these clips were archived straight off of the P2 cards themselves, is it possible the P2 cards were bad to begin with?

No, I am thinking that the unothrodox way of archiving the material (disk images via Toast) may have screwed something up. Maybe.

Did you try the MXF Import demo? If you have a small P2 card, you can upload one and I’d be happy to take a look for you.

I did get MXF Demo it allows me to open the files but I don’t see a program to actually import the stuff. Thank you for offering to take a look at the files, now when you say small is 500mb to big, also where should I upload them to?

You have a dmg file that’s 500GB? perfect.

Yousendit.com would be a good place.

As far as importing the MXF files, watch here:

I popped it in my public folder on my idisk (r e v o l t t v), like my cow user name it will be ready in 30 minutes. Also, I used P2 Log Pro repair wizard to make one complete P2 file I hope that’s OK. The clip is having the same exact problems as the original card. Thanks again for taking a look!
