  • Fixing “Blown” or “Hot” pixels with FCP

I’m about to start filming interviews for a documentary using my Canon XL1S and am horrified to find two defective pixels on the CCD. They are always white and stick right out on my black background. They are obviously always in the same position in the frame. Short of replacing the CCD, or having them masked, I’m wondering if there is a way to edit them out using FCP. Any suggestions?

    Fix the camera. Or…

Rent a camera while your camera is fixed, if you can’t postpone the interviews.

The possible solutions to a dead pixel on footage will be time intensive
