  • fixing a position from a dynamics animation?

    Hi,

I’m putting together a scene that involves a bunch of rubble at the base of a destroyed wall. Is there a way to capture a position in an animation created by MoGraph dynamics? What I’m hoping to do is to assign the pieces of rubble rigid body tags, let them fall into position, and then keep that position as a static, locked position (rather than hand placing them).

I suppose, if push came to shove, that I could let the dynamics play out prior to the actual start of the animation in the individual shots that I’m doing, but that seems a little clunky.

    Any suggestions? I’m using C4D r11.5.

    Thanks!

I think the only option in 11.5 is to make the cloner editable at the chosen frame.

FYI, in R12 the dynamic tag has an option to make any frame the initial state. Then you can just turn off dynamics and it will be frozen.
