  • Fix particles postion at a given time

I know it’s possible to bake a particle solution but what I’d like to do is fix the paticles in a given postion at a certain frame, and then discard all the other particle animation info.

Paul Everett wrote a script called ‘magic bullet’ which freezes the particles at a given frame but I’m just after a certain particle distribution to act as a framwork for a static pyrocluster look.

    thanks for any help

With regular particles you can use a Friction object set it to 0 for as long as desired then to ‘freeze’ the particles set it to something ridiculously large like a million. For TP use a PFreeze node.

Thanks Brian I’ll give it a try.

To get my particles in position on the first frame of the animation, does that mean that I have to run the particles before t=0 and apply friction at that point?

    Thanks again Brian.

Do you happen to know if there is there any other ‘static’ framework that pyrocluster can build on other than particles?

not that I know of, PyroCluster works with ‘any C4D compatible particle system’.

    hmmmm, feared so.

Thanks anyway Brian. The friction trick worked but is a bit unwealdy for what I’m after.
