Hi,
I’m new to the forum and video editing in general and was just looking for some advice. I’ve created a little video https://www.vimeo.com/4855875 for some headcam footage thati’ve recently taken. However when I rendered it to .wmv the quality dropped a lot. I’ve noticed that the footage is quite jumpy and there is a weird ghostly trail effect that wasn’t present on the original footage. Is there something blindingly obvious that would cause this, and can i fix it?

It could be from a mismatched frame rate. What is the frame rate of the camera and what is the frame rate of the project and final render? If they are not the same, this could cause ghosting. The low quality may be from a low bitrate. Flowing water is one of the hardest things to represent at a low bitrate so that is definitely working against you. Try matching the frame rate and increasing the bitrate of the render.
