    Avid for a brief fling.

Then M100 for quite a while (started on some Quadra, ended on a g5 and OSX).

    Fcp v3 for fun.

    Fcp v4.5 for real.

That’s an interesting question. How many here went through a Media 100 phase? I for one was using it from 3 or 3.5 until FCP appeared.

    All the best,

Everybody I know was using Media 100 for quite some time.

I used it because it was less expensive and the codec was far superior to Avid.

    Before non-linear: CMX, GVG Accom,
    First non-linear: Imix Video Cube,
Followed by: Avid MC, Media 100, Premiere 4.2, a wee bit of EDIT, Avid again.
    First FCP 4.5
    Now: FCP 7
Accom was by far the best of the linear editors
Video Cube was ahead of it’s time in some respects. Loved the control panel
Last linear session: Freelance session at Creative Digital in Atlanta. CMX Omni, and I think a GVG 4000 switcher.

First NLE for me was the Accom Cube. Later evolved to Turbo Cube and then to Affinity Sphere platform. I picked up FCP at version 2. But then dropped it for Media Composer until I came back to FCP for 4.0. Been on it ever since. Now, I dare say, due to lack of knowing where apple is going, I am actually (gasp) thinking of Adobe for the future.
