A client wants to shoot an interview based 5 minute award video that will be projected once at a dinner and a few will be handed out on DVD.
My first inclination is to not waste the added budget of renting HD cams and the other costs of me upgrading my whole system to handle HD (although buying a G5 etc. may not be a bad idea) . If we did shoot in HD….would the HD dvd’s be only effective in an HD DVD player and TV? Would the projecter have to be HD capable? If things needed to be scaled down anyway, would shooting in HD just be a waste of money and time? Would shooting on the HVX200 really give me that much better of an image for the delivery needs for this particular project?

I’m going to write two budgets, one for HD and one for 24pDV, any insight would be of great help.

    thnks
