  • Firewire out for transfer of footage on 330?

    Hi,
I wondering if both the 330 and 350 allow you to transfer 35mbit footage over firewire?
From what I have read, the 350 does it…but does the 330?
I’m thinking that the variable framerate is a nice option, but not essential as anything over 30 is 1/2res.
Perhaps a 330 with upgraded optics would be the way to go!
    Thanks for any help.
    Best regards,

It’s to my understanding that you can digitize footage via firewire, but also the XDCAM has a feature (Menu) that you set that will allow your computer to see the camera as a hard drive. This way you can drag and drop (copy) if you will to a hard drive. NAB can’t come soon enough for me..I am really looking forward to seeing these new Cinealta XDCAM HD camera’s upsclose and getting the info first hand. I am still having a hard time with the 1/2 res in the variable frame rate mode. I wonder why Sony would do that? Why would anyone want to shoot 540 lines when they can have 1080 glory.

Im with ya, I really need to make a decision on weather to go with the Z1U or up the stakes and go with the 330.
