I’ve been on this problem for days and nothing seems to fix. Firewire ports are working for drives and iSight, but the capture tool and the FCP output do not. Is there a simple fix for this issue or is it something deeper? I need to output a client project asap and this is a big roadblock.

    Thanks for the input,

    Is this relevant?

First, disconnect the iSight, and second, give full specs of your system, computer, drives, decks, and how everything’s connected.

    All the best,

Are your drives and capture device on the same firewire bus? That can cause a problem. If your drives can use USB 2.0, try switching them over to that.

Apple does not support USB for use with its video editing applications.
