I have a DVX 100 and a Sony DSR 11 which don’t want to communicate with each other via FireWire. I was trying to make a dub yesterday but no go. This morning I hooked up the Panny to my other deck, a JVC BR600 and it worked fine. Is there a menu setting on the Sony that I am missing? Yes, the switch on the front was set to DV.

You need to have both units in VCR mode.

The DSR11 needs to have its input set to iLink or DV with the remote control.

The DSR-11 input is set via a switch on the front. There is no such VCR mode on the DSR-11.

Well, technically it is ALWAYS in the VCR mode 😉

    Sorry, I just had a brain-freeze.

CAMCORDERS need to be in the VCR mode to FW dub.
