I’m attempting to animate a fire / flame effect on a 2d illustration.
I’d like the fire to be 2d as well. Basically ignite from the seat of the chair.
Sort of a bumper / animated bug for the project I’m currently editing.

Is there a tutorial on creative cow, or any suggestions for an easily achieved animation.

Any insights would truly be appreciated.

One way to create somewhat convincing flames is with fractal noise. I don’t remember the settings, but play around with it and make sure to animate it moving up rapidly. Then add some color correction and mask it off.
