Fire “alfa channel” to Over lay on Video In Vegas>?
Posted by Canadateck on September 30, 2005 at 2:14 amI have made “Flames/Fire” in Affter Effects, and would like to Render it out with a “alfa channel” so I may use it in Vegas to Over lay onto some of my Videos, I have tried many Render Settings and Veags will not see the Alfa.
Thanks

September 30, 2005 at 4:11 amGo to Compostion>Add to Render Queue>Output Module:Lossless>Click on lossless>This will open Output Module Settings>Video Output>Click on Channels dropdown menu>select RGB+Alpha. Now when your file is rendered and brought into Vegas, your flames should overlay on your video. Hope this helps.

September 30, 2005 at 12:32 pmI didnt try the Png,I will now.
“Brian T” I did try that, Maybe I need to reinstall? Could also have to do with the fact that, I’m using a “Plugin”??.
What I did was Make a solid color, then add the effect “Plugin”.Thats it, nothing else. Then Render.
Thanks for the Help.

September 30, 2005 at 1:04 pmWhoa there cowboy. If you’re just using some fire plugin than there’s a good possibility there’s not any alpha to use anyway. Did you check to see what happened if you put something behind that layer in After Effects? Or perhaps clicked that little button to turn the checkerboard on?

September 30, 2005 at 1:51 pmPants! I thought that would be an easy solution for you.
How about a Targa sequence?

September 30, 2005 at 4:47 pmI just tried it. The PNG Sequence does work also and depending on your situation they are much smaller file sizes than TGA. ALthough both work well.
