Sorry to hear you are having these issues.

So if I get this right you have opened the compound clip in its own timeline and there you select the green veil clip and you are not able to rotate this clip. Is that correct?

Could it be possible some settings were changed during the upgrade process?

It doesn’t look like a rotation issue. In the before and after, the green swatch looks like it’s in the same orientation, just a different scale.

Just a quick stab at a solution… in the video inspector for that green swatch, under “spatial conform”, try going through your options, fit, fill and none, and see if any of those settings gets things back to where they were.

I’d be curious to see the animated swipe you’re talking about.

Thanks for the reply. I tried unchecking everything, the only thing causing this it the rotation. Yes I scaled up everything in the final layer but it was always that way. Nothing else has changed. I experimented some and saved some of the compound clips that made up what I was rotating into an empty project, exported then dropped the new compressed clip back in to the same place. Worked perfect. This has been confirmed by people in another thread that the is a bug with how layers of multiple compound clips are handled in this version. This is going to be a pain for me in other old projects as well. They need to fix this.
