September 21, 2011 at 1:22 pmTo be used in feature films? Hardly. To be used in broadcast TV shows and cable TV shows done in Hollywood or NY, other key areas? Nope. FCP was making inroads, but all that stopped with FCP 7.

September 21, 2011 at 2:06 pmFCS is available again for purchase from Apple, for how long, nobody can say, and only the full suite at full price, by telephone only. Apple has announced some minor FCP-X upgrades for multicam and easier transition application are available, with a “promise” that broadcast (tape) i/o fixes will be added in 2012. That’s kind of under-whelming to the majority of the users who fell burned, and I doubt it will be enough to turn the tide, by itself. For too many, it is too little, too late.
